Therapists need to know how to protect themselves and comfort those clients who fear contracting HIV through massage therapy. In this course therapist read scientific discussions that will eliminate pitfalls of misinformation. Discussions include information on opportunistic diseases, knowing someone with HIV, acquiring and avoiding HIV, testing and confidentiality, communication of results, counseling, contracting AIDS, and protection and risk factors.
This home study course is designed for students who are self-motivated, are good at pacing study time around work and home life, enjoy learning through reading and are prepared to take a written test prior to receiving a certificate of achievement.
Prerequisites for home studies: Therapists purchasing this home study are expected to have an active professional license or professional certification in massage or other professional therapy, are re-activating an inactive license, or are seeking to further their education in their respective field of therapy.
